RE: Best way to clean a sitting water tank

There are a few different tank sanitizers on the market, bleach does fine ,remember to run through all faucets ,both hot and cold-let sit a few hours then flush all lines. The hot water tank should be drained and flushed, check anode also. You will need to fill and drain and run through the faucets a couple of times to really get rid of the bleach smell.

RE: Class C Rv mileage

I don't use cruise control in the hills,it will really do a number on mpg. I try not to accelerate, but instead I hold the same speed and usually switch off OD at around 50.On steep grades this will often hold 50 and the lower end that I have hit is 45mph-I could have jammed the throttle went down a gear and instantly dropped to 6mpg and held the mph.Its a great time to drive-get out there! the Big Rigs have really slowed down-I have not had a bit of trouble driving recently--its actually fun:)

RE: towing a car with a Class C

I have a color rear camera with i/f for night, makes towing as easy as if was behind my pickup truck. With a good camera system you will laugh about the days you used a rear view mirror:)

RE: Class C Rv mileage

I have just finished 1100 miles of a month long trout fishing trip, have kept fuel/milage figures and averaged 8.73 in the mountains -loaded to the max and pulling our Suzuki toad ,on relative flat running got 10.83.I ran regular gas the first 500 miles then switched to high test with a 15.6% improvement in mpg -the main difference noted was when in the hills I would drop from 60 to 55mph instead of 60 to 50 with regular gas.

Cat alarm clock

Feed your cat when you eat while traveling and you will never need a alarm clock-and all the fuss of setting it.If your cat eats and sleeps to your schedule-it will wake you up in time for the next meal, and there is no snooze button:S

Any one else notice trucks going slower !

Driving seven hours on I/75 today -was passed by only about dozen trucks that were doing over 60mph.:)

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Locked towmaster on toad ,cleaned and greased, filled toad up 1/2 tank and filled 5 gal emergency jug, cleaned windows, made last minute to-do list and put on top of suite case, pumped new grease in everthing that has a fitting, fed the cat her favorite treat--- 1/4 pounder with cheese and some fries-I get the extra onions and pickels from hers on the one for me:)

RE: How do you pack items on rv's with limited storage?

If you pull a toad - you have 400-600 lb of storage right behind your RV-I also have a roof carrier on the toad filled with towels ,socks, books, pot holders etc.

RE: Newbee chuckle time.

ron.dittmer has given you a great detailed explanation,I love the "finance for 40yrs with little $ down and the comparing to boats really brought a smile-since, I said the same thing to my older brother last week .Its a buyer bonanza -get out there and take advantage of the situation and have the time of your life-see you in a RV park soon:)

RE: Onboard Battery Question

If one of your house batteries gets weak -replace both with the same type and brand, other wise your charge will not be even-it always flows to the battery of least resistance.

RE: Battery upgrade?

A web page that may help in choosing a battery setup is www.thesolar.biz. As far as lifeline 3100's I really don't see a advantage of 2-6volts in place of one 12 with the same performance, maybe its the initial sticker shock of $260.I got 6-7yrs out of deep cycle 12v marine batteries and that was with some extreme pounding and fishing with high drain electronics while on battery power alone

RE: What type of caulk?

I would remove the trim, clean -inspect joint the trim covers, reseal if needed.I like to leave a way for any trapped water to exit if it finds its way under cosmetic trim -when putting trim back on,put some sealer in each screw hole and on the screw treads. If 3M 5200 is used-- use it in places you don't plan on working on again,it is almost impossible to remove,I have seen deck eyes and mooring cleats that have lifted a hull with the bolts removed with only 5200 holding them in place. You can speed up the cure time by misting the area with water and covering with plastic/taped tight. I love 3M 5200 -if you want to learn how to seal stuff and do a neat job -buy a tube and play around with it first before you put it on your RV-We used cases of the stuff years ago in IOR offshore racing, and I can still find some of it on my tools 28 yrs later!!!:)

RE: Class C MPG

My nephew drove mine 1000 miles at 60+ and averaged 10mpg-Knowing him if he says 60 its more like 65-70-he kept good records and it was 10,with 15 gal still in the tank when done. Some cards offer $.05 rebate on fuel charged, charge on your B.O.A Mastercard and get flyer/hotel miles, the same with A.E card with the bonus of Home Depot miles.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Looked at the RV as I finished a big cup of coffee and felt good about all the aches and pains of waxing by hand-admired the rims that I spent 2 days on, and how nice the new tires look -gave Elvira my attack cat a bath and she is happy too :)

RE: Broke a Winegard Antenna..... Again !!

If you broke the arms or gear assembly-maybe time for a sat-upgrade.I use both and replaced the actual antenna on my winegard arms with a Active 5 DX antenna-no more turning the antenna, its done with a remote and has reception as good as cable tv-bought it off Ebay from distributor in LasVegas and its from Japan not China! and can be used in harsh marine enviroments.I did a couple of cuts with a hand held grinder to the wineguard brackets and cut a small section of chainlink fence pipe -reused the clamps and it was done,if I remember correctly the antenna was $40+- plus shipping.

RE: What did you do to your Class C MH today???

Starting to feel like NASA waiting for a weather launch window-and getting p-o'ed with the weather channel-every time I turn it on its some stupid storm story--I want real weather NOW! not weather history archives.

RE: "Alternative Fuel Conversion?"

The Veyron at full speed will use 26 gal in 12min-46sec :) Although few autos achieve the luxury of a new Bugatti-(none at the speeds it is capable of),its that level of achievement that continues the name into the 21st century-there are a few other's, Spyker comes to mind, that has the fit and finish -right up there at the top also.

RE: Staying Connected

Most providers will show a coverage map-study it and see where you usually go,then choose,I'am writing this and linking through a high speed wi-fi-of unknown origin to me-all I know is "network connection 2 default"

RE: "Alternative Fuel Conversion?"

I will leave that answer -to your imagination, but what country is better for car camping than the good old USA and a Veyron-----in my dreams? :) It really is a alternative fuel conversion-instead of mpg it becomes gal-per minute!
